4.1.3. Removal and installation of a cover of a head of cylinders

Except engines of 3.0 l (SOHC and DOHC) and 3.5 l

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. In case of need remove an air inlet sleeve.

3. In case of need release a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve from intermediate clamps.

4. At the corresponding complete set disconnect a ventilating branch pipe from a cover of a head of cylinders.

5. Remove from a cover the PCV valve with the hose connected to it.

6. On models of 1.6 l and 2.6 l (DOHC) remove a protective cover of a plait of VV of an electrical wiring.
7. Mark and disconnect from the wire VV spark plugs, take aside a plait of wires with separators.

8. Give three fixing bolts and remove the top cover of a gas-distributing belt.

9. Moving outside inside, turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of a head of cylinders.

10. Uncover a head of cylinders and separate from it sealing laying.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of a cover and a head of cylinders.
2. Establish on a cover of a head of cylinders new sealing laying / rings (depending on a complete set).
3. Lay a cover on a head of cylinders, screw and, moving from the center to edges, tighten fixing bolts with the required effort (see Specifications).
4. Connect a branch pipe of a sapun to a cover of a head of cylinders.
5. Establish on the regular place an electrical wiring VV plait with dividing arms (separators), connect wires to spark plugs.
6. On models of 1.6 l and 2.0 l (DOHC) establish into place a protective cover of a plait of VV of an electrical wiring.
7. Establish an air inlet on the regular place.
8. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
9. Start the engine and check it for serviceability of functioning and existence of signs of development of leaks from under a cover of a head of cylinders.


Engines of 3.0 l and 3.5 l

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Remove the top section of the inlet pipeline (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
3. On models of 3.0 l of DOHC remove a protective cover of a plait of VV of an electrical wiring.
4. Disconnect wire VV from spark plugs.
5. Disconnect tubes of system of ventilation of a case from covers of both heads of cylinders.
6. Give fixing nuts of clamps and disconnect an engine electrical wiring braid from covers of both heads. Shift plaits aside.
7. Turn out bolts and hairpins of fastening of covers of heads of cylinders.
8. Remove both covers.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surface of heads of cylinders and their covers.
2. Establish new sealing laying on covers.
3. Lay covers on heads of cylinders (everyone on the).

4. Screw fixing bolts and hairpins and, in strictly certain order, tighten them with the required effort (see Specifications).

5. Lay a braid of an electrical wiring of the engine on the place and tighten fixture of intermediate clamps.
6. Connect branch pipes of system of ventilation of a case to covers of heads of cylinders.
7. Establish into place electrical wiring VV separators, connect wire VV to spark plugs.
8. On engines of 3.0 l of DOHC establish into place a protective cover of a plait of VV of an electrical wiring.
9. Establish the top section of the inlet pipeline (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
10. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
11. Start the engine and check it for serviceability of functioning and existence of signs of development of leaks from under covers of heads of cylinders.
