6.2. Dropping pressure in a power supply system

Remember that gasoline is extremely flammable liquid! During the work with components of a power supply system observe all taken measures of fire safety. Do not smoke! Do not approach the venue of works with naked flame or the carrying unprotected by the lamp shade! You do not make service of system in the rooms equipped with the heating devices using natural gas and equipped with a control torch (such as vodogre and dryers for clothes). Do not forget that gasoline is among cancerogenic substances, i.e., - the substances promoting development of cancer! Try not to allow hits of fuel on open parts of the body, use rubber protective gloves, at casual unforeseen contact with fuel carefully wash out hands warm water with soap. Immediately collect the spilled fuel and do not put the rags impregnated with fuel and lubricants near sources of naked flame. Remember that the power supply system of the models equipped with injection of fuel constantly is under pressure. Before starting a detachment of fuel lines, dump residual pressure in system. At service of components of a power supply system put on goggles. Constantly hold near at hand the class B fire extinguisher!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Dumping of pressure in a power supply system has to be carried out before service of any of its components for the purpose of minimization of risk of ignition of fuel and receiving injuries by the performer.
2. Having turned a key in position of OFF, switch off ignition.
3. For dumping of excessive pressure in the fuel tank uncover a jellied mouth.
4. On the Mirage, Diamante and Galant models from 1994 to 2000 of the issue remove a pillow of a back seat. Dismantle a service cover in a floor of salon and disconnect an electrical wiring of the fuel pump.
5. On the front-wheel (FWD) Galant 1990 ÷ models of 1993 of the issue disunite the gasoline pump electrical wiring socket located around the fuel tank.

It is not excluded that for the purpose of ensuring access to the socket the back of the car should be poddomkratit and established on props.

6. On the all-wheel drive (AWD) Galant 1990 ÷ models of 1993 of the issue remove a rug in the luggage compartment and find the electrical wiring plait brought to a service cover of access to the fuel pump. Disunite the contact socket.
7. Start the engine and wait for its spontaneous stop, then turn the ignition key in position of OFF.
8. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action! Connect an electrical wiring to the pump and establish into place a service cover / lower the car on the earth. On the corresponding models establish a pillow of a back seat / rug of the luggage compartment.

9. Wrap up the nipple knot which is subject to a rassoyedineniye rags, prepare paper towels for collecting the spilled fuel.
