1. Kill the engine and for the purpose of removal of a superficial charge from the battery on 15 ÷ 20 seconds include head headlights.
2. Measure tension of the rechargeable battery. Write down result of measurement.

1. Include neutral transfer (models with RKPP) / transfer the selector lever to situation "P" (models from AT). Cock the parking brake and prop up wheels antiretractable boots.
2. According to instructions of manufacturers of the device connect a tachometer to the engine.
3. Disconnect everything onboard consumers of the electric power (the radio receiver, the heater fan, screen wipers, etc.).
4. Start the engine and lift the frequency of its rotation to 1500 rpm.
5. Consider the indication of the voltmeter registering the output tension of the battery, - it has to rise by 0.5 ÷ 25 V rather removed during primary check. If everything is all right, you pass to check of the generator under loading.
6. Tension increment size exit out of limits of admissible range speaks about failure of the generator/regulator of tension.

Also the probability of violation of serviceability of a condition of an electrical wiring and its contact connections is not excluded.

7. The greatest information on a condition of the generator can be obtained by performance of its check on a workbench with application of a special tester, - act according to the instruction of the manufacturer.

1. At the working engine include as much as possible onboard consumers of the electric power (driving beam, the heater fan, etc.).
2. Lift the frequency of rotation of the engine to 2000 rpm.
3. Consider the indication of the voltmeter connected to polar plugs of the battery, - tension to remain it has to is at least 0.5 B higher initial, otherwise violation of serviceability of functioning of the generator/regulator of tension takes place. Check also a condition of a connecting electrical wiring and its contact connections.
4. Try to make check of the generator on a workbench with application of a special tester, - act according to instructions of manufacturers of the device.

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Uncover located at the left under the car of access.
3. On the Galant models equipped with system of a turbo-supercharging remove an inlet air duct.
4. Take off driving belts (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
5. Remove pulleys of the water pump.
6. Remove the top basic arm of the generator.
7. On models of 1.6 l remove the battery with the pallet and the tank of liquid of washing of a windshield, then turn out the top fixing bolts and remove a cooling system radiator (see the Head Dvigatel).

Take a radiator aside, without disconnecting from it hoses.

8. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the generator.

9. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the generator.

1. Install the generator on the regular place, establish the lower bolt, screw and slightly tighten a fixing nut.
2. On models of 1.6 l establish a radiator of the cooling system and fix it by the top bolts. Install the battery pallet, the battery and the tank of liquid of washing of a windshield.
3. Establish the top basic arm of the generator and fix an electrical wiring plait on assembly.
4. Establish pulleys of the water pump.
5. Establish and adjust driving belts (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
6. On the Galant models with a turbo-supercharging establish an air inlet sleeve.
7. Establish an access cover (under the car at the left).
8. Connect a negative wire to the battery and check serviceability of functioning of system of a charge.

2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

3. Remove the tank of liquid of washing of lenses of headlights.
4. Remove the K/V fan and a pillow of the top support of a radiator.
5. Weaken a natyazhitel and take off a generator drive belt.
6. Turn out top and the lower bolts of fastening of the generator.
7. Give bolts of fastening of a basic arm.
8. Remove a basic arm.
9. Disconnect an electrical wiring and remove the generator.

1. Install the generator on the regular place and connect to it an electrical wiring.
2. Establish a basic arm and tighten fixing bolts with the required effort.
3. Fix the generator on a basic arm, tighten fixture with the required effort (24 H • м).
4. Establish and adjust a driving belt (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
5. Install the K/V fan and a pillow of the top support of a radiator.
6. Install into place the tank of liquid of washing of lenses of head headlights.
7. Connect a negative wire to the battery and check serviceability of functioning of system of a charge.

2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

3. Remove an air inlet sleeve.
4. Release a natyazhitel and take off a generator drive belt.
5. On the Californian models remove assembly of the converter of a back row.
6. Remove a jet bar of the power unit.
7. On models of 3.0 l of SOHC disconnect an electrical wiring of the sensor of temperature of EGR and pick up EGR phone, also remove an assembly bracket of the delivery camera of an inlet air path (the top section of the inlet pipeline).
8. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the generator.
9. Turn out top and the lower bolts of fastening of the generator.
10. Lower the generator down and take it from under the car.

1. Install the generator on the regular place.
2. Tighten the lower fixture of the generator with the required effort (20 ÷ 25 H • м).
3. Connect an electrical wiring to the generator.
4. On models of 3.0 l of SOHC establish an assembly bracket of the delivery camera of an air path. Screw a fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort (18 H • м). Establish a tube of EGR and connect an electrical wiring to the sensor of temperature of system of recirculation of the fulfilled gases. Tighten fixture of clamps of a tube with effort (60 H • м).
5. Establish a jet bar of the power unit and tighten its fixture with the required effort (45 H • м: a bolt and 50 ÷ 60 H • м: a nut).
6. If removed, establish assembly of the back converter.
7. Establish and adjust a driving belt (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
8. Connect an air inlet sleeve.
9. Connect a negative wire to the battery and check serviceability of functioning of system of a charge.
