1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Perform measurement of resistive resistance of primary winding of the coil of ignition: a) Disunite the contact socket of an electrical wiring of the distributor of ignition; b) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between two plugs of the socket on the distributor case (on models of 3.5 l measurement is performed between socket plugs 1 and 2); c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.9 ÷ 1.2 Ohms: for models of 1.5 l, 1.8 l and 2.4 l and 0.5 ÷ 0.7 Ohms: for models 3.5 l); d) If resistance is normal, therefore, breaks and short circuits in a winding are absent; e) If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the coil.

3 Further measure the resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil:

a) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover;
b) Connect the second wire to the distributor socket plug 1 or 2.
c) Consider the indication of an ohmmeter and compare result of measurement to standard requirements (20 ÷ 29 kOhm: for models of 1.5 l, 1.8 l and 2.4 l and 9 ÷ 13 kOhm: for models 3.5 l);
d) If resistance is normal, therefore, breaks and short circuits in a winding are absent;
e) If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the coil.

Further measure the resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil: a) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover; b) Connect the second wire to the distributor socket plug 1 or 2. c) Consider the indication of an ohmmeter and compare result of measurement to standard requirements (20 ÷ 29 kOhm: for models 2.0 SOHC of l and 10.29 ÷ 13.92 kOhm: for models of 3.0 l of SOHC); d) If resistance is normal, therefore, breaks and short circuits in a winding are absent; e) If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the coil.

3. Disconnect VV a wire from the ignition coil (pull for a plug tip, and not for a wire at all!).
4. Disunite the contact socket of an electrical wiring of the coil.
5. Turn out fixing screws and remove assembly of the coil of ignition from the engine.
6. Installation is made upside-down.

Perform measurement of resistive resistance of primary winding of the coil of ignition: a) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between socket plugs 4 and 2 (for coils from cylinders No. No. 1 and 4)/4 and 1 (for coils from cylinders 2 and 3); b) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.77 ÷ 0.95 Ohm).

4. Further measure the resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil: a) Disconnect an electrical wiring from the coil; b) Measure resistance between VV plugs of cylinders No. No. 1 and 4 and No. No. 2 and 3 respectively; c) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover; d) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (10.3 ÷ 13.9 kOhm);

5. If the result at least of one of measurements exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the corresponding coil.

Perform measurement of resistive resistance of primary winding of the coil of ignition: a) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between socket plugs 3 and 2 (for coils from cylinders No. No. 1 and 4)/3 and 1 (for coils from cylinders 2 and 3); b) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (0.70 ÷ 0.86 Ohm).

4. Further measure the resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil: a) Disconnect an electrical wiring from the coil; b) Measure resistance between VV plugs of cylinders No. No. 1 and 4 and No. No. 2 and 3 respectively; c) Connect one of measuring instrument wires to the plug of a secondary winding of the coil of ignition from above on a distributor cover; d) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (11.3 ÷ 15.3 kOhm).

5. If the result at least of one of measurements exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the corresponding coil.

3. Further measure the resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil: a) Mark and disconnect candle wires from bobbin assembly; b) Measure resistance of a secondary contour between plugs of each of separate bobbin modules; c) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (20.1 ÷ 27.3 kOhm);

4. If the result at least of one of measurements exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the corresponding coil.

Further measure the resistive resistance of a secondary contour of the coil: a) By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between the corresponding plugs of sockets of coils (plugs 1 and 4 - for the module A; plugs 2 and 5 - for the module B and the plug 3 and 6 - for the module C); b) Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (11.3 ÷ 15.3 kOhm).

4. If the result at least of one of measurements exceeds the limit of admissible range, replace the corresponding bobbin assembly

2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

3. Mark and disconnect candle wires from bobbin assembly, - pull only for a tip, and not for a wire at all!
4. Disconnect an other electrical wiring from the coil.
5. Turn out fixing screws and remove bobbin assembly from the engine.
6. Installation is made upside-down.

4. Remove candle wires of the corresponding cylinders.

3. Remove from the inlet pipeline the delivery camera (the top section of the pipeline) (see the Head Dvigatel).
4. Mark and disconnect candle wires from bobbin assembly, - pull only for a tip, and not for a wire at all!
5. Disconnect an other electrical wiring from the coil.
6. Turn out fixing screws and remove bobbin assembly from the engine.
7. Installation is made upside-down.
