Engines of 1.5 l

Models 1990 ÷ of 1994 of the issue.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of a cover and components of the GRM drive on models of 1.5 l of 1990 ÷ 1994 of the issue are presented on an illustration.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

3. Remove elements of protection of a case.
4. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine). Take off belts of the drive of auxiliary units.
5. In case of need remove a broad tank of the cooling system.
6. Slightly raise the engine on a jack and remove an arm of a forward support of the power unit. Remove arms of a natyazhitel and pulleys of the water pump and a bent shaft.
7. Turn out fixing screws and remove the top and lower sections of a forward cover of the GRM drive.
8. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt, weaken a natyazhitel and take off a belt.

Try not to allow hits of cooling liquid or motive oil on a surface of a gas-distributing belt or cogwheels of the GRM drive!

9. Remove the remote plug, a spring and assembly of a natyazhitel.
10. Attentively examine a belt from all directions on existence of cracks, attritions, pollution traces oil and other defects. Manually estimate freedom of rotation of a tension roller.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install on the engine block assembly of a natyazhitel with a spring and the remote plug.

2. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft that has to guarantee reduction of the engine in the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder.

3. Holding the relevant party of a belt of tense, put on it cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft.
4. For a tension of a belt make for a camshaft cogwheel effort in the direction counterclockwise and make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags.
5. Release axial and lock bolts of a natyazhitel, - the weak point of a belt has to be chosen at the expense of the natyazhitel of effort developed by a spring.
6. Tighten at first lock, then axial bolts of a natyazhitel.

Tightening of an axial bolt by the first can lead to deployment of a natyazhitel and, respectively, weakening of a belt!

7. Turn a bent shaft clockwise. Weaken at first axial, then lock bolts of a natyazhitel, having allowed a spring to choose the remained belt weak point. Again tighten bolts in the appropriate order (see above), - this time with the required effort (20 ÷ 27 H • м).
8. Check correctness of effort of a tension of a belt for what, holding a tension roller, press a direct run of a belt in the middle a thumb, - by firm pressing the belt has to cave in at a size, approximately equal 1/4 sizes of a head of a lock bolt (see in the same place).

Remember that pulling of a belt can lead to emergence of the howling sound during the operation of the engine!

9. Establish to the place of a cover of the GRM drive and all other components which were removed for the purpose of ensuring access.
10. Connect a negative wire to the battery.


Models 1995 ÷ of 2000 of the issue.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Remove elements of protection of a case.
3. Having turned the engine clockwise, bring it into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder.
4. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine). Remove a clamp To/in, an arm of a forward support of the power unit and belts of the drive of auxiliary units.
5. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft.
6. Turn out fixing screws and remove the top and lower sections of a forward cover of the GRM drive.
7. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt. Weaken a natyazhitel and record him in this situation.
8. Take off a belt.

Try not to allow hits of cooling liquid or motive oil on a surface of a gas-distributing belt or cogwheels of the GRM drive!

9. In case of need remove the remote plug, a spring and assembly of a natyazhitel.
10. Attentively examine a belt from all directions on existence of cracks, attritions, pollution traces oil and other defects. Manually estimate freedom of rotation of a tension roller.
11. Install on the engine block assembly of a natyazhitel with a spring and the remote plug.

12. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft that has to guarantee reduction of the engine in the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder.

13. Holding the relevant party of a belt of tense, put on it cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft.
14. For a tension of a belt make for a camshaft cogwheel effort in the direction counterclockwise and make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags.
15. Release axial and lock bolts of a natyazhitel, - the weak point of a belt has to be chosen at the expense of the natyazhitel of effort developed by a spring.
16. Tighten at first lock, then axial bolts of a natyazhitel.

Tightening of an axial bolt by the first can lead to deployment of a natyazhitel and, respectively, weakening of a belt!

17. Turn a bent shaft clockwise. Weaken at first axial, then lock bolts of a natyazhitel, having allowed a spring to choose the remained belt weak point. Again tighten bolts in the appropriate order (see above), - this time with the required effort (24 H • м).
18. Establish to the place of a GRM drive cover, screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the required effort (10 ÷ 11 H • м).
19. Establish all other components which were removed for the purpose of ensuring access.
20. Connect a negative wire to the battery.


Engines of 1.6 l and 2.0 l of DOHC without turbo-supercharging

On engines of 1.6 l balancing shaft are absent, - the corresponding points of the instruction should be lowered.


Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Remove elements of protection of a case.
3. In case of need remove a broad tank of the cooling system.
4. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine) and remove an arm of a support of the power unit.
5. Take off belts of the drive of auxiliary units, arms of a natyazhitel and pulleys of a water naos and a bent shaft.
6. Turn out fixing screws and remove the top and lower sections of a forward cover of the GRM drive.

7. Having turned the engine clockwise, bring it into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder, - cogwheels of camshafts have to be developed by landing pins up (adjusting tags will appear at the level of the interfaced surface of a head of cylinders). Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt.

8. Remove an automatic natyazhitel and an external gear (gas-distributing) belt.
9. Shoot a video and the lever of a natyazhitel, an intermediate roller, a cogwheel of the oil pump, a special washer, a flange and the remote plug.
10. Remove an internal natyazhitel of an internal gear belt of the drive of a balancing shaft. Afterwards take off a belt.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of cranked and balancing shaft, then establish a gear belt of the drive of a balancing shaft (internal).
2. Holding a natyazhitel fingers, press a belt on the center, having completely chosen a weak point, then tighten a bolt of a natyazhitel.
3. Check correctness of adjustment of a tension of a belt: at firm pressing a middle part of the longest run the size of a deflection has to make about 5 ÷ of 7 mm. In case of need repeat adjustment.
4. Put a flange, a cogwheel of a gas-distributing belt and a washer on a pin of a bent shaft.

The flange is established from a cogwheel of an internal gear belt. Screw a fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort (110 ÷ 130 H • м).

5. For installation of a cogwheel of the oil pump enter the cross screw-driver with a sting with a diameter of 8 mm into a special opening in the left wall of the block of cylinders (previously take a cap). Having blocked the screw-driver a balancing shaft, tighten a fixing nut with the required effort (50 ÷ 60 H • м).
6. By means of the rozhkovy key which is put on the lysk provided between necks of the 2nd and 3rd bearings fix the camshaft from a provorachivaniye and tighten a bolt of fastening of its cogwheel with the required effort (80 ÷ 100 H • м).

If lysk between necks of the specified bearings are absent, the cogwheel can be blocked by means of a bifurcate key.

7. Carefully wring out inside a rod of an automatic natyazhitel so that the adjusting opening in it was combined with an opening the block of cylinders. For fixing of a rod pass a wire throughout an opening.
8. Put a roller on the lever of a natyazhitel. Achieve that the bayonet opening in an axis of a tension roller appeared to the left of the central bolt and manually tighten the last.
9. At installation of a gas-distributing belt develop cogwheels of camshafts landing pins up and adjusting tags to each other (tags have to appear at the level of the interfaced head surface).

At an otpuskaniye of a cogwheel of the final camshaft it will be developed on one tooth counterclockwise that it is necessary to take into account when landing a belt!


On cogwheels of camshafts it is provided after the sensor switch adjusting tags. At installation of a wheel of a final shaft it is necessary to be guided by the tag located on the right at the top provision of a pin at installation of a wheel of an inlet shaft, - by the tag located at the left (a pin also above).

10. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of a bent shaft and the oil pump.
11. Take a cap and pass throughout an opening in a wall of the block of cylinders the cross screw-driver with a sting with a diameter of 8 mm, - if the screw-driver is entered approximately on 60 mm, therefore, the balancing shaft holds the correct position. If it is possible to enter the screw-driver not more deeply than on 20 ÷ 25 mm, turn a cogwheel of the oil pump on one whole revolution and repeat attempt. Leave the screw-driver entered into an opening.

Violation of correctness of provision of a balancing shaft is fraught with development of vibrations during the operation of the engine.

12. Throw with a gear belt a cogwheel of the inlet camshaft and record it two spring clips.
13. Get a belt on a cogwheel of the final camshaft, - by means of two keys achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags. For fixing of a belt use couple of clips again.
14. Fill a belt under an intermediate roller, then pull it on cogwheels of the oil pump and a bent shaft, having in conclusion filled under a roller of a natyazhitel. Remove clips.
15. Develop a natyazhitel clockwise and tighten the central bolt. Make sure in correctness of combination of adjusting tags.
16. Turn a bent shaft on 1/4 turns counterclockwise, then return it to a starting position, having achieved the required combination of all adjusting tags, the engine has to fall into a state of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder.
17 Release the central bolt, then by means of the MD998738 tool and a dynamometer key create on a natyazhitel torque 2.6 ÷ 2.8 H • m and again tighten a bolt.
18 Screw the special tool in an arm of the left support of the power unit so that it nestled on the lever of a natyazhitel. Screw the tool a little more and take the wire fixing an automatic natyazhitel. Remove the special tool.
19 Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise, let's components take seat within about 15 minutes, then measure the size of a vystupaniye of an automatic natyazhitel (distance between the lever of a natyazhitel and the case of an automatic natyazhitel). The required value makes 3.8 ÷ 4.5 mm. In case of need repeat adjustment.
20 If adjustment of a tension of a gas-distributing belt is made on the engine installed on the car, it is not possible to perform measurement of the specified gap. In such situation it is necessary to resort to an alternative method:

· Screw the MD998738 tool, having pressed it an end face to the lever of a natyazhitel;
· Screw the tool a little more, utaplivy a pusher of a natyazhitel, count quantity of the turns of the tool which were required in order that the lever of a natyazhitel nestled on the case of an automatic natyazhitel, - the nominal rate makes 2.5 ÷ 3 turn;
· Establish a rubber cap in a back cover of the GRM drive.
21 Establish the sections of a forward cover and other components which were removed for the purpose of ensuring access.
22 Connect a negative wire to the battery.


Engines of 1.8 l and 2.0 l of SOHC

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Bring the engine into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder.

2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

3. Remove elements of protection of a case.
4. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine). Remove an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.
5. Take off belts of the drive of auxiliary units, arms of a tension roller and pulleys of the water pump and a bent shaft.
6. Turn out fixing screws and remove the top and lower sections of a forward cover of the GRM drive.
7. Take off a gas-distributing belt, an external cogwheel of a bent shaft and a dividing flange.
8. Remove a natyazhitel of a gear belt of the drive of a balancing shaft, then an internal belt.
9. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft.
10. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt. Weaken a natyazhitel and record him in this situation.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of balancing and cranked shaft with reciprocal tags on a forward casing.

2. Put on a belt cogwheels so that its top part was tense. Check correctness of combination of adjusting tags.
3. Establish a tension roller and shift it manually so that the long run of a belt caved in approximately on 6 mm.
4. Having blocked a pulley from a provorachivaniye, tighten a fixing bolt with the required effort (20 H • l) also double-check deflection size.
5. Take a natyazhitel of a gas-distributing belt against the stop aside of the water pump and tighten bolts. Press the top end of a spring to the case of the water pump.
6. Achieve combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft and the oil pump with reciprocal tags on a forward casing.

There is a 50 percent probability of violation of correctness of installation of a balancing shaft (180-degree shift) despite correct combination of all tags that will lead to noticeable increase in level of vibrations during the operation of the engine. In order to avoid a similar situation try to treat with all attentiveness implementation of the listed below procedures!


7. Before installation of a gas-distributing belt make sure of correctness of orientation of the left (back) balancing shaft (a cogwheel of the oil pump):

· Take a cap from a back wall of the block of cylinders and pass a core with a diameter of 8 mm throughout the opened opening;
· At the correct combination of tags the core has to enter on depth about 60 mm. If it is not possible to enter a core more deeply than on 25 mm, the cogwheel of the oil pump should be turned on one whole revolution;
· Make sure of correctness of combination of tags;
· Leave a core entered into an opening for the purpose of fixing of a balancing shaft.

8. Put on a belt cogwheels at first of a bent shaft, then the oil pump, - track that all weak point appeared from an arrangement of a natyazhitel.
9. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags. If everything is all right, weaken a fixing bolt of a natyazhitel, having allowed the last to choose a belt weak point.
10. Take the core fixing a balancing shaft and turn a bent shaft so that the cogwheel of the camshaft promoted on two teeth, - at the same time the natyazhitel will automatically adjust effort of a tension of a belt.

Attempts of implementation of a regulriovka of a belt are manually fraught with emergence of the howling sound during the operation of the engine!

11. Tighten at first lower, then top fixing/remote bolts.
12. Check correctness of adjustment of effort of a tension of a belt, - the size of a deflection of its longest run by firm pressing by a thumb has to make about 13 mm.
13. Installation of covers of the GRM drive and the other components which were removed for ensuring access is made as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle. Track that in a flute on the interfaced surfaces of covers all provided sealing elements were put.
14. Connect a negative wire to the battery.


Engines of 2.0 l of DOHC with a turbo-supercharging

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Remove elements of protection of a case.
3. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine). Remove an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.
4. Take off belts of the drive of auxiliary units.
5. Shoot a tension video of a driving belt.
6. Remove pulleys of the water pump and a bent shaft.
7. Turn out a carving hairpin from an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit and uncover the GRM drive.

8. Turn the engine clockwise before combination of adjusting tags.

9. Release the central bolt of a tension roller.
10. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt. Take a natyazhitel aside of the water pump and take off a belt.
11. By means of the special MB9g67 tool block a cogwheel of a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye and give the central bolt of its fastening. By means of a stripper of MB998778 dismantle a cogwheel.
12. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gear belt B.
13. Release the central bolt of a natyazhitel and take off a belt.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Put a cogwheel on a pin of a bent shaft, block it from a provorachivaniye by means of the MB9g67 tool and tighten the central fixing bolt with the required effort (108 ÷ 127 H • м).

2. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags on a cogwheel In a bent shaft and a wheel of a balancing shaft.

3. Put on an internal belt B cogwheels. Take away a tension roller to the left, having arranged it on the center over a fixing bolt.
4. Having turned off a roller clockwise towards a bent shaft, choose a weak point of a belt and tighten a fixing bolt with effort 19 H • m, - in order to avoid an excessive tension of a belt, try not to allow roller shifts in the course of tightening of a bolt. At the correct adjustment of a tension the belt has to cave in approximately on 5 ÷ 7 mm by firm pressing it a thumb on the site in the middle between cogwheels.
5. Establish an external cogwheel of a bent shaft. Slightly oil a fixing bolt, screw it and tighten with effort 108 ÷ 127 H • m.
6. By means of a vice wring out a pusher of an automatic natyazhitel and record it in this situation, having entered a special finger into the combined openings.
7. Install assembly of an automatic natyazhitel on the engine.
8. Achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels distributive and cranked in bulk and the oil pump.
9. After the correct combination of a tag of a cogwheel of the oil pump take a cap from a wall of the block of cylinders and enter a core with a diameter about 8 mm into the released opening, - the core has to enter an opening not less, than on 60 mm, otherwise it is necessary to turn a cogwheel of the pump once and to enter a core repeatedly. Leave a core entered into an opening before the end of implementation of the procedure of installation of a belt.
10. Put on a gas-distributing belt a cogwheel of the inlet camshaft and record it a clip.
11. Put on a belt a cogwheel of the final camshaft.
12. Check correctness of an arrangement of adjusting tags concerning the interfaced surface of a head of cylinders, - in case of need make the corresponding adjustment by means of couple of wrenches. Fix a belt on the second wheel by one more clip.
13. Get a belt under an intermediate roller, then pull it on cogwheels of the oil pump and a bent shaft, having in conclusion filled under a roller of a natyazhitel.
14. Develop a tension roller so that bayonet openings appeared below and slightly press it to a tape of a belt.
15. Screw the special tool in an arm of the left support of a suspension bracket of the power unit so that its end rested against the lever of a natyazhitel. Screw the tool a little more and take a pin, the blocking automatic natyazhitel. Remove the special tool and tighten the central bolt with the required effort (48 H • м).
16. Turn a bent shaft on 1/4 turns counterclockwise, then return it to a starting position, trying to obtain the correct combination of adjusting tags.
17. Weaken the central bolt and install the special MD998767 tool on a roller of a natyazhitel. apply to a roller the torque directed counterclockwise in 3.5 H • m also tighten the central bolt with the required effort (48 H • l), - try not to allow roller shifts in the course of tightening of a bolt.
18. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise and again achieve the correct combination of adjusting tags.
19. Having allowed components to take seat within not less than 15 minutes, measure the size of a vystupaniye of a pusher of an automatic natyazhitel, - the required value makes 2.8 ÷ 4.8 mm. In case of need again weaken the central bolt and repeat the procedure of adjustment.
20. Establish to the place of a cover of the GRM drive and all the other, being removed for the purpose of ensuring access components.
21. Connect a negative wire to the battery.


Engines of 2.4 l

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

In many regions of the world special points on different reception of working off are equipped. Do not merge old cooling liquid in the sewerage and on the earth at all!

4. Remove assembly of the fan(s) of the cooling system with casings (see the Section Removal and installation of the fan of the cooling system of the engine) and driving belts of auxiliary units.
5. In case of need remove a radiator (see the Section Removal and installation of a radiator of the cooling system (all models)).

6. Remove assembly of the top support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.

7. Remove the top section of a forward cover of the GRM drive.

8. Remove the steering pump, the generator, the air conditioner compressor, a tension roller and the corresponding basic arms.

9. Remove pulleys of the water pump and a bent shaft.
10. Turn out fixing screws and remove the lower section of a cover of a gas-distributing belt.

11. If the belt (i) is subject to reuse, mark the direction of its rotation.

12. Take off an external gear (gas-distributing) belt. Otboltite from the block also remove assembly of a natyazhitel.

13. Remove an external cogwheel of a bent shaft and a dividing flange.

14. Also remove Otboltite from the block a natyazhitel of an internal gear belt (a belt of the drive of a balancing shaft). Take off an internal belt.

15. Special SST MB9g67-01 and MIT308239 tools will be necessary for removal of a cogwheel of the camshaft.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish into place a cogwheel of camshafts. The required effort of tightening of the central bolt makes 90 H • m.
2. Achieve combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of a belt of the drive of a balancing shaft with response indexes on a forward casing. Put on a belt cogwheels so that all weak point gathered in its lower part. Double-check correctness of combination of tags.
3. Establish a natyazhitel so that the axis of his roller was higher and is more left than an adjusting bolt.
4. Hands take away a roller up so that the long run of a belt by firm pressing it a thumb caved in approximately on 6 mm.
5. Having blocked a roller in this situation from a provorachivaniye, tighten a bolt with the required effort (20 H • м). If the roller at an otpuskaniye is displaced, therefore, the belt is tense excessively hardly.

6. Establish a natyazhitel of a gas-distributing belt, take away it against the stop to the water pump and temporarily tighten bolts. Rest the top end of a spring against a pump housing. Achieve combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of the GRM drive with response indexes on a forward casing.

There is a 50 percent probability of violation of correctness of installation of a balancing shaft (180-degree shift) despite correct combination of all tags that will lead to noticeable increase in level of vibrations during the operation of the engine. In order to avoid a similar situation try to treat with all attentiveness implementation of the listed below procedures!

7. Before installation of a gas-distributing belt make sure of correctness of orientation of the left balancing shaft (a cogwheel of the oil pump):

· Check correctness of combination of a tag of a cogwheel of the oil pump with the response index on a forward casing;
· Take a cap from the left wall of the block of cylinders around fastening of a starter;
· Pass a core with a diameter of 8 mm throughout the opened opening;
· At the correct combination of tags the core has to enter on depth about 60 mm. If it is not possible to enter a core more deeply than on 25 mm, the cogwheel of the oil pump should be turned on one whole revolution;
· Make sure of correctness of combination of tags;
· Leave a core entered into an opening for the purpose of fixing of a balancing shaft.
8. Put on a belt cogwheels at first of a bent shaft, then - the oil pump and, at last, - the camshaft. Track that all weak point gathered from placement of a tension roller, - the opposite run of a belt has to remain tense.
9. Check correctness of combination of adjusting tags if everything is all right, release a fixing bolt of a natyazhitel, having allowed a roller to nestle on a tape of a belt and to choose the weak point taking place.
10. Take the core holding a balancing shaft then turn a bent shaft clockwise so that the cogwheel of the camshaft was displaced on two teeth, - at the same time there has to be an automatic adjustment of effort of a tension of a belt.

Attempts of implementation of adjustment of a belt are manually fraught with its pulling that usually leads to emergence of the howling sound during the operation of the engine!

11. Tighten fixing bolts (at first the lower, then top remote).

If at a provorachivaniye of a bent shaft during adjustment of a tension of a belt there is a feeling of resistance, the procedure should be suspended immediately, in order to avoid damage of valves at their casual contact with pistons.

12. Check correctness of a regulriovka of a tension of a belt, - by firm pressing by a thumb in the middle of a direct run of a tape (between wheels of the camshaft and oil pump) the last has to cave in approximately on 13 mm.
13. Establish the lower section of the GRM drive, - track that all provided sealing laying was put.
14. Establish pulleys of the water pump and a bent shaft.
15. Establish the top section of a forward cover of the GRM drive.
16. Install the steering pump, the generator, the air conditioner compressor, a tension roller, basic arms and other components which were removed for the purpose of ensuring access.
17. Establish a radiator and assembly of the fan of the cooling system with the protection cover (see the Sections Removal and installation of a radiator of the cooling system (all models) both Removal and installation of the fan of the cooling system of the engine).
18. Fix candle wires in a basic arm on the top cover.
19. Fill in in the engine fresh cooling liquid of the required grade (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
20. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
21. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leaks.


Engines of 3.0 l of SOHC

Models 1992 ÷ of 1994 of the issue.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of a cover and components of the GRM drive on models of 3.0 l of 1990 ÷ 1994 of the issue are presented on an illustration.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

7. Remove a basic arm of a natyazhitel.
8. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine) and remove an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.
9. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of pressure of the steering pump. Remove the pump, take it aside, without disconnecting hydraulic lines, and tie up a wire.
10. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft.
11. Remove a side cover of the GRM drive.
12. Remove top and the lower section of a forward cover of the GRM drive.
13. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt, weaken a natyazhitel and take off a belt.

Try not to allow hits of cooling liquid or motive oil on a surface of a gas-distributing belt or cogwheels of the GRM drive!

14. Make sure of correctness of combination of tags of VMT of cogwheels of the GRM drive.
15. Weaken a bolt of a natyazhitel and take off a gas-distributing belt. If the natyazhitel does not need removal, take him aside as it is possible further from the engine and record in this situation, having tightened a bolt.
16. If the natyazhitel is removed, mark the correct adjusting provision of its spring, - at assembly it has to be established similarly. Otboltite a natyazhitel also remove it together with a spring.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If removed, establish a natyazhitel, connect the top end of a spring to a finger on the case of the water pump, fix the lower end in original situation. Establish cogwheels of both camshafts, - track combination of adjusting tags. Having turned a bent shaft, achieve combination of an adjusting tag with the response index on the case of the oil pump.
2. Put on a gas-distributing belt a cogwheel of a bent shaft and holding its relevant party of tense, throw with a tape of a belt a wheel of the forward camshaft.
3. Get a belt under a driving face of the water pump, then pull it on a cogwheel of the back camshaft and fill under a roller of a natyazhitel.
4. Turn the forward camshaft counterclockwise, trying to obtain a belt tension on the site between cogwheels of these and cranked shaft. If during installation of a belt there was a rassovmeshcheniye of adjusting tags, repeat the procedure.
5. Establish the directing flange on a cogwheel of a bent shaft.
6. Release a bolt of a natyazhitel and allow a spring to choose a belt weak point.
7. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise, again having achieved combination of adjusting tags, then tighten a bolt a lock bolt of a natyazhitel with the required effort (29 H • м). Check correctness of adjustment of a tension of a belt by means of the special measuring instrument. At connection of the device to a tape of a belt on the site in the middle between cogwheels of back distributive and cranked shaft the indication has to make (230 ÷ 310 H • м).
8. Establish GRM drive covers, - track that on the interfaced surfaces of sections all sealing laying provided by a design was put.
9. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft. Screw a fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort (150 ÷ 160 H • м).
10. Establish a basic arm of the engine.
11. Install the steering pump and connect an electrical wiring to GUR pressure sensor switch.
12. Establish an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit and get away from under the engine a jack.
13. Establish tension rollers and belts of the drive of auxiliary units.
14. Install the actuation mechanism of a tempostat.
15. Establish elements of protection of a case.
16. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
17. Make trial runs of the car.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

In order to avoid unauthorized operation of safety cushions start implementation of the procedure not less than 90 seconds later after a battery detachment!

3. Remove an element of protection of a case.
4. Remove the pump and draft of the drive of a tempostat.
5. Remove the generator.
6. Prop up the engine a cart jack (for the purpose of distribution of loading lay wooden whetstone between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case of the engine) and remove an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.
7. Remove forward covers of the GRM drive.
8. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt, weaken a natyazhitel and take off a belt.

Try not to allow hits of cooling liquid or motive oil on a surface of a gas-distributing belt or cogwheels of the GRM drive!

9. Make sure that the engine still is in situation VMT and adjusting tags are properly combined.
10. Release the central bolt of a tension roller and you otboltit assembly of an automatic natyazhitel.

The automatic natyazhitel needs reinstallation!

11. Take off a gas-distributing belt.
12. A wrench having blocked the camshaft from a provorachivaniye, remove from it a cogwheel.
13. Clamp assembly of an automatic natyazhitel in a vice with soft sponges.

From the back party of assembly of a natyazhitel there is an acting cap, - in order to avoid its casual damage enclose a washer of the corresponding thickness under sponges of a vice.

14. Slowly drown a rod of a natyazhitel before combination of adjusting openings.
15. Pass a wire 1.4 mm thick throughout the combined openings, release assembly of a natyazhitel from a vice and install it on the engine. Screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the required effort (24 H • м).

before installation of the interfaced surface of a natyazhitel it is necessary to smooth out carefully, to grease a carving part of old bolts with sealant. When replacing bolts sealant is applied only on those which hats are not marked with white paint.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If removed, establish a natyazhitel. Connect the top end of a spring to a finger on the case of the water pump, lower fix on assembly of a natyazhitel, having brought him it is strict in former adjusting situation.
2. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags of both camshafts.
3. Turn a bent shaft so that its adjusting tag was combined by the response index on a forward cover.
4. Put on a gas-distributing belt a cogwheel of a bent shaft, then, holding its relevant party of tense, create the film of a belt a cogwheel of the forward (left) camshaft.
5. Fill a belt under a driving roller of the water pump, then pull it on a cogwheel of the back (right) camshaft. In conclusion fill a tape of a belt under a tension roller.
6. Release a lock bolt of the regulator and slightly press a natyazhitel to a tape of a belt. Make sure of correctness of combination of all adjusting tags.
7. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise, in conclusion having again achieved combination of tags.
8. Tighten a lock bolt of a natyazhitel with the required effort (26 H • м).
9. Establish sections of a cover of the GRM drive and all other components which were removed for the purpose of ensuring access.
10. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
11. Make trial runs of the car.


Engines of 3.0 l of DOHC

Removal

12. Shoot an intermediate video of a belt of the drive of the К/В generator/compressor.
13. Remove a basic arm of the engine.

Fixing bolts have various length and at assembly have to be established strictly on the former places.

14. Remove the lower section of a forward cover of the GRM drive, - try to remember the adjusting provision of fixing bolts.
15. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt, weaken a natyazhitel and take off a belt.

Try not to allow hits of cooling liquid or motive oil on a surface of a gas-distributing belt or cogwheels of the GRM drive! Make sure that the engine still is in the provision of VMT.

16. Weaken a bolt of a natyazhitel and take off a belt.
17. Remove assembly of a natyazhitel.


Installation

1. If the rod of an automatic natyazhitel is completely put forward, make his reinstallation:

· Place assembly of a natyazhitel in a vice with soft sponges;
· Slowly squeezing sponges of a vice, drown a rod of combination of its opening with an opening in the cylinder;
· Having passed a piece of a rigid wire throughout the combined openings, record a rod in the drowned situation;
· Take assembly from a vice.
2. Without taking a wire, install a natyazhitel on the engine.
3. If correctness of combination of adjusting tags was broken, make the manipulations described below.

try not to push fingers between spokes of cogwheels as the last can unexpectedly be turned under the influence of the effort developed by valvate springs!

· Achieve the correct arrangement of an adjusting tag of a cogwheel of a bent shaft, then turn a wheel on 2 teeth clockwise for the purpose of elimination of risk of contact of the piston with the valve at a provorachivaniye of camshafts;
· Serially achieve the correct arrangement of adjusting tags of cogwheels of each of camshafts.

At simultaneous opening of inlet and final valves of one cylinder they can cling the friend to the friend therefore, in case of the slightest resistance it is necessary to correct position of the second camshaft at once;

· Again achieve combination of distributive tags of a bent shaft, then turn the last on 1 tooth counterclockwise, having prepared thereby wheels for installation of a gas-distributing belt.
4. Installation of a gas-distributing belt is made in the following order (at once fix a belt on cogwheels of camshafts spring clips):

· 1 - cogwheel of the final camshaft of a forward head of cylinders;
· 2 - cogwheel of the inlet camshaft of a forward head of cylinders;
· 3 - driving roller of the water pump;
· 4 - cogwheel of the inlet camshaft of a back head of cylinders;
· 5 - cogwheel of the final camshaft of a back head of cylinders;
· 6 - intermediate roller;
· 7 - cogwheel of a bent shaft;
· 8 - roller of a natyazhitel.
5. Develop a roller of a natyazhitel so that openings in his finger appeared directly over the central bolt, then press a roller to a tape of a belt and at the same time tighten the central bolt.
6. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags and remove the clips fixing a belt.
7. Turn a bent shaft on 1/4 turns counterclockwise, then return it back, again having achieved the correct combination of tags.
8. Weaken the central bolt of a tension roller. By means of special MD998767 adaptation and a dynamometer key apply to a roller torque in 10 H • m and again tighten a bolt (track that in the course of tightening of a bolt the natyazhitel was not turned).
9. Take the wire fixing a rod of an automatic natyazhitel.
10. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise and let's components take seat within not less than 5 minutes. Check freedom of the course of an adjusting finger in an opening of a natyazhitel.
11. Measure the size of a vystupaniye of an automatic natyazhitel (distance between the lever of a natyazhitel and his case). The required value makes 3.8 ÷ 4.5 mm. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range, repeat the procedure of adjustment.
12. Install the lower section of a cover of a lobby of the GRM drive on the engine, - track that all sealing laying provided by a design was established.
13. Establish a basic arm of the engine, - track that all bolts all bolts were established strictly on the former places, - previously grease a working surface of a razzenkovanny bolt, tighten a bolt slowly.
14. Establish an intermediate roller.
15. Establish an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit, lower a jack and take it from under the engine.
16. Establish into place the top section of a cover of a lobby of the GRM drive, - track that all sealing laying provided by a design was established.
17. Connect an electrical wiring to the sensor of level of brake fluid.
18. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft. Screw a fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort (180 ÷ 190 H • м).
19. Establish assembly of a natyazhitel and a belt of the drive of the steering pump.
20. Establish an air hose and a tube.
21. Install the generator.
22. Install the actuation mechanism of a tempostat.
23. Establish elements of protection of a case.
24. Connect a negative wire to the battery.

16. Weaken a bolt of a tension roller and take off a belt.

In order to avoid damage of valves at blow them about the bottoms of pistons do not allow a provorachivaniye of cogwheels of camshafts at the taken-off gas-distributing belt!

17. Turn out fixing bolts and remove assembly of an automatic natyazhitel.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Cock a rod of an automatic natyazhitel:

· Place assembly of a natyazhitel in a vice with soft sponges;
· Slowly squeezing sponges of a vice, drown a rod of combination of its opening with an opening in the cylinder;
· Having passed a piece of a rigid wire with a diameter of 1.4 mm throughout the combined openings, record a rod in the drowned situation;
· Take assembly from a vice.
2. Without taking a wire, install a natyazhitel on the engine. Screw fixing bolts and tighten from with the required effort (24 H • м).
3. Achieve the correct arrangement of an adjusting tag of a cogwheel of a bent shaft, then turn a wheel on 1 tooth counterclockwise.
4. Achieve combination of adjusting tags of camshafts.
5. Installation of a gas-distributing belt is made in the following order (at once fix a belt on cogwheels spring clips):

· 2 - a cogwheel inlet races - a predelitelny shaft of a forward head of cylinders;
· 3 - a driving roller water on Sosa;
· 4 - a cogwheel of the inlet camshaft the back - it heads of cylinders;
· 5 - a cogwheel of the final camshaft the back - it heads of cylinders;
· 6 - roller of a natyazhitel;
· 7 - cogwheel of a bent shaft;
· 8 - intermediate roller.
6. Make sure of correctness of combination of tags of a bent shaft, then press a roller of a natyazhitel to a tape of a belt. After the weak point of a belt is chosen, tighten a bolt of a natyazhitel.
7. Develop a roller of a natyazhitel so that openings in his finger appeared directly over the central bolt.
8. Make sure of correctness of combination of adjusting tags and remove the clips fixing a belt.
9. Turn a bent shaft on 1/4 turns counterclockwise, then return it back, again having achieved the correct combination of tags.
10. Weaken the central bolt of a tension roller. By means of special MD998767 adaptation and a dynamometer key apply to a roller torque in 10 H • m and again tighten a bolt, - this time with the required effort (49 H • l) (track that in the course of tightening of a bolt the natyazhitel was not turned).
11. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise and let's components take seat within not less than 5 minutes. Check freedom of the course of an adjusting finger in an opening of an automatic natyazhitel.
12. Take the wire fixing a rod of a natyazhitel.
13. Measure the size of a vystupaniye of an automatic natyazhitel (distance between the lever of a natyazhitel and his case). The required value makes 3.8 ÷ 4.5 mm. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range, repeat the procedure of adjustment.
14. Install the lower section of a cover of a lobby of the GRM drive on the engine, - track that all sealing laying provided by a design was established.
15. Establish a basic arm of the engine, - track that all bolts all bolts were established strictly on the former places, - previously grease a working surface of a razzenkovanny bolt, tighten a bolt slowly.
16. Establish an intermediate roller.
17. Establish an arm of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit, lower a jack and take it from under the engine.
18. Establish into place the top section of a cover of a lobby of the GRM drive, - track that all sealing laying provided by a design was established.

7. Remove a basic arm of the fan of the cooling system.
8. On some models for ensuring access to bolts of fastening of the lower section of a lobby it is necessary to uncover the GRM drive a pulley of a bent shaft.
9. Turn out fixing bolts and uncover top and lower the GRM drive.
10. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor of provision of a bent shaft (CKP).
11. By means of the special МВ9g67-01 and MD998754 tools remove a pulley from a pin of a bent shaft.

12. Carefully wipe adjusting tags on GRM drive cogwheels with pure rags. Also achieve their correct combination.

13. Mark with chalk or paint the direction of rotation of a gas-distributing belt, weaken a natyazhitel and take off a belt.

Try not to allow hits of cooling liquid or motive oil on a surface of a gas-distributing belt or cogwheels of the GRM drive! Track correctness of combination of tags.

14. Weaken the central bolt of a tension roller and take off a gas-distributing belt.
15. Remove assembly of an automatic natyazhitel, a tension roller and the lever of a natyazhitel.
16. Holding camshafts from a provorachivaniye a suitable key, give fixing bolts and remove the corresponding cogwheels.


Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish into place a pulley of a bent shaft and turn a cogwheel of the last on three teeth clockwise, having brought thereby the engine into situation VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder is a little farther.
2. If removed, establish into place cogwheels of camshafts. Tighten fixing bolts with the required effort (88 H • м).
3. Achieve combination of adjusting tags of cogwheels of camshafts of the left and right heads of cylinders. A wrench block cogwheels from a provorachivaniye.
4. Put a belt on cogwheels of camshafts of the right head of cylinders and record it by means of couple of office clips.
5. Get a gas-distributing belt under a driving roller of the water pump.
6. Make sure of correctness of combination of tags of cogwheels of camshafts of the left head of cylinders, put on a belt wheels and record it by means of couple of spring office clips.
7. Get a belt under an intermediate roller.
8. Turn a bent shaft on one whole revolution counterclockwise and again achieve combination of adjusting tags.
9. Get a belt under a tension roller.
10. Develop a roller a bayonet opening up, press it to a tape of a belt and tighten a lock bolt with effort 48 H • m.
11. Slowly turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions clockwise before combination of adjusting tags. Remove four clips fixing a belt on cogwheels of camshafts.
12. Establish to the place of a GRM drive cover.
13. Establish a pulley of a bent shaft. Screw a fixing bolt and tighten it with the required effort (150 H • м).
14. Install all components which were removed for the purpose of providing on the engine, - act as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle.
15. Fill in in the cooling system fresh mix of the required grade (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
16. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
17. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leaks.
