4.1.5. Removal and installation of the thermostat

In order to avoid receiving burns, start performance of work only after final cooling of system! Do not allow hit of antifreeze on open parts of the body and the painted surfaces of the car. Immediately wash away incidentally got splashes a plentiful amount of water. Remember that antifreeze is extremely toxic liquid and its hit in an organism even in small amounts is fraught with the most serious consequences (up to a lethal outcome). Never leave antifreeze stored in leaky closed container and immediately collect the cooling liquid spilled on a floor. Remember that the sweetish smell of antifreeze can draw to itself attention of children and animals. About ways utilization of the fulfilled cooling liquid consult at any station of car service. In many regions of the world special points on different reception of working off are equipped. Do not merge old cooling liquid in the sewerage and on the earth at all!



1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Empty the cooling system (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
3. Remove all components limiting access to the thermostat.
4. Turn out fixing bolts and remove a thermostat casing from the engine.

5. Take the thermostat from a casing, - try to remember the correct adjusting provision of assembly. The sealing ring of the thermostat is subject to replacement without fail!



1. Fill the thermostat in a casing, - track density of landing of a flange in the flute chosen in a body of the inlet pipeline or a casing. Achieve the correct combination of the spuskny valve with a tag on a thermostat casing.
2. Having replaced a sealing ring, establish a thermostat casing on the regular place and tighten bolts of its fastening with the required effort (see Specifications).
3. Fill in in the cooling system necessary amount of mix of the required grade (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).
4. Install the components which were removed for the purpose of ensuring access.
5. Connect a negative wire to the battery. Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature (the thermostat has to open) and add a little more cooling liquid in a radiator, having brought its level to the lower cut of a mouth.
6. After cooling of the engine double-check the level of cooling liquid, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment.
